The very first moment you heard about the possibility of making money online questions like “How much will I earn?” and “How do I start?” would be the first to bother your mind.
“Life is what we make it”.
This is a favorite quote of a special friend I’ve met while working as a machinist in Taiwan almost seven years ago. Needless to say, she’s the very first lady to steal this once perceived by most of my friends as stone heart.
I’m the kind of guy who falls in love once in a blue moon. And when that happens it comes with such great devotion.
Unfortunately, I’m not the guy she could love so we ended up as just friends. But not without damage. I went home to my own country with a totally devastated heart that I thought never again will I have the capacity to offer that kind of devotion to any girl.
Well, your capacity to earn money online depends on how you want to make it, how far you want to learn, how many sacrifices you want to give, and how much resources you want to invest.
If you treat your make money online pursuit as a business then definitely there is some kind of capital or investment that you need to lay down. As the saying goes money don’t just grow on trees. In the offline world the saying, “you need money to make more money” is true. You can’t put up any business without some money to start with.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to sell to you anything here. But this is a reality that I discovered after three years of desperately trying to learn the trade of making money online.
Now, there is one thing that I have observed in this make money online world. Those who are making huge real income are those people who are successful at managing a business in the offline world. They are the businessmen who know how to run any endeavor profitably.
By now you might be thinking, “But I have no money. I want to earn quick cash so I could have something to use to start my make money online business.”
Sure, there are many ways to make money online for free without spending a dime. But bear in mind that it’s unlikely to earn that fast cash without working for it or doing anything.
You need to spend time to earn it. That means if you really want to earn free cash on the internet then you need to accomplish some work. You need to set apart a time of your day to learn the trade of earning money.
How Do I Start?
Plan first
When I started online my first impression was it could be easy to make fast cash. I was so eager to earn money because I was totally broke.
Even without money I should have made some cash. The problem was I didn’t have plans. I didn’t have focus. I didn’t have the basic knowledge.
As a result I wander from one money making program to another. I earned nothing but a ton of frustrations and I wanted to leave internet marketing.
In desperation, I accepted a local 8-5 job offered by a friend which soon lead me into more troubles. (I’ll be talking about this damn experience on my next posts).
Making money online can be profitable business. If you treat it that way then you can be on your way to making a living online for the long term. It’s true that you can earn thousands of dollars per month. But only when you know where the real money is and how to dot it.
Make a choice
If you are a total beginner then you need decide if making a living online is what you really want to do. Next decide what particular money making avenue you want to pursue.
This could be blogging, selling affiliate products (affiliate marketing), selling on eBay, making money on Facebook and Twitter, list building, and freelance writing.
There are many avenues to make money online which we will be discussing in the future posts.
Start learning
Start learning what you need to know about that particular area. For example, if you want to start making money by blogging you have to find out how to start a blog, what blogging platform to use, what niche or topic you want to write about, and how you can monetize you traffic. We will be talking more about this stuff in the future so hang on.
Just like other offline business or local jobs it takes a lot of your time and patience especially if you are starting from scratch with no knowledge at all.
Disclaimer
Now, please don’t blame me if you can’t be making any cash after a month or two. It might be better to look for other jobs in your locality if you are badly in need of money.
Use your skills
On the other hand, if you have internet related skills such as writing, web and graphics designing, and programming then you’re more blessed because you have a natural asset to start with.
It is easier for you to find jobs online while starting your own business. This way you can generate some cash to pay your monthly bills and other immediate needs.
